Hippocrene accepts submissions of poetry, prose, high resolution digital photos, hybrid compositions, or other media via email to litmag.wustl@gmail.com. Submissions do not have to pertain to medicine or science. Submission deadlines will be posted on our website and announced via email.
Literary Arts
Pieces should be emailed as attachments (DOC, DOCX, or RTF) to litmag.wustl@gmail.com. Include in the body of your email:
- Your name as you wish it to appear in print
- The title(s) of the piece(s) as they should be printed
- Your program and year
- Any other information you deem pertinent.
We regret that we cannot accept anonymous submissions.
Hippocrene considers for acceptance poetry and prose up to 2,000 words (longer works may be considered on a case-by-case basis). You are welcome to submit multiple pieces. However, due to space limitations, we cannot publish multiple prose pieces by the same author, and may not be able to publish multiple poems by the same author.
Visual Arts
Pieces should be emailed as attachments (JPEG preferred) to litmag.wustl@gmail.com. Include in the body of your email:
- Your name as you wish it to appear in print
- The title(s) of the piece(s) as they should be printed
- Your program and year
- Any other information you deem pertinent.
We regret that we cannot accept anonymous submissions.
Images must be at least 200 dpi.
You are welcome to submit multiple pieces. However, due to space limitations, we may not be able to publish more than two images by the same artist.
